Profhilo treatment is recommended as a regular treatment as part of a skin maintenance plan to achieve optimal results for on-going skin repair and prevention of ageing. The initial treatment regime is two sessions at 4 weeks apart. Following this, as part of your skin maintenance plan we recommend either of the following options: 

One treatment every 3 months or two treatments (at 4 weeks apart) every 6 months. 

Yes, Profhilo treatment is generally considered safe when administered by a trained, qualified practitioner. Profhilo contains pure, stabilized hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body, which reduces the risk of adverse reactions or allergies. It’s also free from synthetic chemicals like BDDE (used in some fillers to stabilize HA), making it biocompatible and well-tolerated by most skin types.

As with any injectable treatment, there may be temporary side effects, such as mild swelling, redness, or small bumps at the injection sites, which typically subside within a day or two. Serious side effects are rare, especially when administered by an experienced professional.

There has been a rise in counterfeit Profhilo being used by unregulated professionals, so always check when you are having a treatment that you are receiving the genuine Profhilo product by a qualified medical professional.

Both Profhilo and dermal filler are made from Hyaluronic Acid- so when it comes to the differences it can become confusing BUT they are very different treatments. 

Profhilo is a pure hyaluronic acid gel, containing a mixture of low & high molecular weights in a perfect concentration and ratio to support your skin collagen and help hydration. Profhilo is purely designed to help rejuvenate & nourish your skin and the hyaluronic acid properties are different to the hyaluronic acid used in dermal filler. 

Dermal filler treatment does not help to rejuvenate your skin but will help with instant improvement in volume loss, add definition and balance your profile. The hyaluronic acid in dermal filler is a different form, it is thicker in consistency and contains other ingredients to help support its structure and ensure it provides the longevity needed for lasting results.

Profhilo and polynucleotide treatments are both injectables for skin rejuvenation but work differently. As stated above, Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid that enhances hydration and elasticity, while polynucleotides focus on skin repair and regeneration. Polynucleotides are made of DNA fragments that promote tissue repair, cellular regeneration, and reduce inflammation, making them excellent for repairing ageing or damaged skin at a deeper level.
